In this story, Tara Selter finds herself stuck in a time loop on November 18th. She’s initially alone in this repeating day until she meets Henry Dale, a sociologist from Norway who’s also trapped in this temporal anomaly. They bond over their shared predicament and become companions. Tara notices that Henry’s clothing changes from day to day, indicating that they are indeed reliving the same day repeatedly.
Henry moves into Tara’s apartment, and their relationship becomes akin to two patients sharing a hospital ward. They open up about their personal lives, with Henry sharing the pain of being separated from his ex-wife and young son. Henry has made numerous attempts to visit his son on different iterations of November 18th, pretending to be spontaneous and in the country, but with no success. Tara, on the other hand, discusses her research into the Romans and her fascination with the remnants of history.
After spending 200 days together, they decide to celebrate, and Henry decides to visit his son in the US, suggesting that Tara should visit someone named Thomas. Tara heads to Düsseldorf, where she accidentally attends a lecture by a French philosopher, which emphasizes the importance of philosophy continually questioning itself. Tara eventually reunites with Thomas but struggles to connect with him due to the growing gap of time between them.
