On Calculation of Volume 1 (Om udregning af rumfang) by Solvej Balle

Tara Shelter finds herself trapped in a perplexing and repetitive time loop, reliving the 18th of November over and over again, while her husband, Thomas Shelter, experiences time as usual. This unusual scenario is the central theme of the story, as Tara grapples with the disorienting and lonely nature of her predicament.

Initially, Tara shares her bizarre experience with Thomas, who is equally perplexed by her descriptions of the recurring day. Their early days together in the loop are filled with a sense of togetherness, trying to decipher the mystery that has enveloped them. However, as time wears on, Tara begins to feel isolated and detached. The days lose their charm, and she yearns for a way out.

In her attempt to understand the peculiar nature of her situation, Tara discovers that the items she and Thomas buy together persist into the next day, while other objects, such as a jar of olives, return to their original locations. This inconsistency further fuels her desire to escape the loop.
