A man, feeling bored, goes for a drive without a specific destination. He ends up in a forest at the end of a path, and his car gets stuck in the mud. He considers finding a way to turn the car around, but he can’t recall any suitable locations. Another option is to seek help, but there aren’t many houses nearby, and he doubts anyone is home. He contemplates walking back to the main road.
As it gets cold and starts snowing, the man turns on the car’s heat. He realizes that he hasn’t eaten recently and that meals are different when you live alone. He leaves the unlocked car and walks into the forest in search of help, even though he questions the wisdom of this decision.
As darkness falls, he encounters a shining figure that warms him. He feels a touch on his shoulder, but when he opens his eyes, the shining figure is gone. He speculates that it might have been an angel, possibly a good one or a bad one.
